Jay-Z embarked on his 44th birthday on December 3rd and instead of celebrating with lavish monetary gifts that you might expect from a rap mogul, Jay-Z decided to go on a 22 day vegan diet.
“On December 3, one day before my 44th birthday, I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based!" the music mogul wrote on his Life + Times website. "This all began a few months back when a good friend and vegan challenged me to embrace a 'plant-based breakfast' every day. It was surprisingly easier on me than I thought." – http://www.people.com
He told sources this was an important milestone for him and the 22 day diet which ends on Christmas Day is the perfect way to celebrate 44. Professionals say it takes 21 days to break a habit, let’s see if this diet becomes a test, a habit or a lifestyle. I guess only time will tell.
Beyonce is also joining her hubby on this vegan journey. These two are probably the furthest from what one might consider a typical vegan. These trendsetters have a massive influence in our culture from music to fashion to now hopefully food choices. As the Internet loves to point out, B can do it all.

Jay-Z was challenged by a good (un-named vegan friend) to complete this goal. Both him and Beyonce have known vegan friends, maybe it was one of them. I am secretly hoping it was Ellen.
