So award season is coming to an end, the Golden Globes, the Grammys, the SAG awards and the Vegan Fashion Awards. Oh wait, you didn't know about the Vegan Fashion awards? Well, they are a real thing.

The Vegan Fashion awards just wrapped up their 2nd year honoring such great fashion houses like Stella McCartney who vows to never use animal skins in any of her collections to Vivienne Westwood for her men's line.

These are major fashion houses who are contributing to a more compassionate way of dressing. So it is a good thing these awards were invented to honor those making strides in showing fashion doesn't have to be cruel to be cool.

The ever (though she hates to be called) ecentric Vivienne Westwood even praised a plant based in an article for L’Officiel magazine.

Vivienne wrote, “We are an endangered species. Our survival depends on becoming more human; for that we each need to engage with the world – not consume but live in harmony. I suggest: 1) when possible prepare your own food (‘Do it Yourself’). My own diet is without meat or grains. I am one of the world’s privileged people and can choose what I eat. Fruit and vegetables is my preferred food, delicious and aspirational. It is convenient to prepare and the most efficient for your body to use, supplying all the goodness and energy you need.” -www.ecorazzi.com/

Stella McCartney is another influencial fashion designer who is no stranger to compassionate living.
